What is Endumax?

Developed and patented by Teijin Aramid, Endumax® is a high-performance UHMWPE material. Its unique physical and chemical structure makes it 11 times stronger than steel weight for weight, and highly resistant to abrasion, chemicals and high temperatures, while delivering a very high modulus. What’s more, Endumax® is an environmentally friendly and solvent-free material that can easily be recycled.

Endumax® can be used in a wide variety of applications, including ballistic protection, airfreight containers, laminated sails, ropes and cables, loudspeakers, and nets. In fact, it can be used anywhere where there is a need for superior strength, safety, light weight and/or durability. Morever, Endumax® is available in different formats and sizes, and can be adjusted according to manufacturers’ requirements.

Because of its unique chemical and physical structure, Endumax® combines many high-performance benefits that distinguish it from other polyethylene and UHMWPE materials:

  • Superb weight-to-strength capabilities
  • Extremely high modulus
  • High abrasion resistance
  • Excellent creep properties
  • High chemical resistance
  • Superior thermal-aging performance
  • No brittleness at cryogenic temperatures
  • High UV resistance
